A few months ago I preached a series of messages and began each sermon with the following question: "If each one won one, and each one won won one, how many would be won when each one won won one?" The answer: Lot's of people. That is God's process for winning the world to Jesus Christ.
A few weeks ago at invitation time, Bruce Arbaugh came forward to join our church. He was accompanied by his best friend, Stu Stull. Stu had invited Bruce to Madison and had been very instrumental in the rekindling of Bruce's faith in Christ. As the two men embraced in front of the congregation, tears slid down many cheeks. This is exactly as God intended - one person had reached another person - lives are changed and the Kingdom of the Lord moves forward.
Yesterday at invitation time, Andrea Mattingly came to the front. She was carrying her bathing suit in her hand. She wanted to be baptized. She was accompanied by Alex Stillion and Tracy Stillion who had introduced her to Christ and helped her see the need to be baptized into Christ. Again, precisely the way God designed the process. People are reached by people.
Think about this for a minute, please. Who is it that introduced YOU to Jesus Christ? Are you eternally grateful for that person? Next question: Who has the Lord placed in your life for you to be the person who reaches out to them for Jesus Christ and the church? If no one comes immediately to mind, ask the Lord who he would like you to reach. He will show you, lives will be changed and the Kingdom of the Lord will move forward. The Lord never designed his process to be expensive, complicated, and certainly not just the domain of a few people. Think about it: "If each one won one, and each one won won one, how many would be won when each one won won one?" It will boggle your mind and make you passionate about evangelism.
