Why We Exist
Submitted by Paul Barnes on July 6, 2010 - 1:50pm.
A church can exist primarily for the benefit of those already present. It is important to minister to the Body of Christ, but Jesus has made clear that there is another purpose. Our belief is that the Lord has called our church into existence primarily to reach out continually to those who have never given their lives to Christ and united with the church. We have just completed a powerful weekend of reaching out to those yet to be reached.
- We participated this year at an unprecedented level in the Groveport Fourth of July Parade. We had a beautiful float. The float was a great effort of Madison Christian Church and Madison Christian School. Jenalle Crabtree provided excellent leadership to this total project. It is impossible to properly recognize the great number of people who participated in building, equipping, and resourcing this float. It is also impossible to count the number of people we touched, greeted, gave candy and literature. I appreciate the passion of the people who walked the parade and rode the float! They were excited about reaching people! The magnetism of their lives and witness was very powerful! Thank you to every person who particpated in this great project. We are praying that when the Lord puts it into many people's hearts to attend a church that our presence in that parade will cause them to think of Madison, or when they want to seek Christian Education for their children, they will look to Madison Christian School.
- The Madison Patriotic Celebration was the second great outreach opportunity of this weekend. Our auditorium was filled with many guests on this very special day. We honored Jesus Christ, had a wonderful program, recognized the dedication of the military, police, firefighters, and EMS personnel. Once again this year, our humble prayer is that many of those who attended this service and who are unchurched will stick with Madison and come to know the Lord Jesus in this place.
